It was great fun, skulking around in the shadows and choking out your pals. Mercenaries were like typical military grunts, while Spies had non-lethal weapons and had to use their stealth and maneuverability to win. At release, Chaos Theory had an excellent co-operative mode, with levels designed specifically to encourage teamwork between two players, and a brilliant asymmetric Spy vs. I remember Chaos Theory mostly for its multiplayer, which is a problem because none of its multiplayer modes work anymore. They want Ubisoft to do more to remove alleged abusers from the company, and to give employees a better "seat at the table" when it comes to changes in policy. Earlier this month, employee group A Better Ubisoft started a petition, open to all, asking for support in pursuing their demands. Ubisoft are, of course, also currently being heavily criticised by their own staff.

So we’re really thrilled about it and thrilled about doing it from a variety of sources.Three-eyed gantry shuffler Sam Fisher hasn't starred in his own game since 2013's Blacklist, but Ubisoft are currently giving away the third and arguably best game in the series, 2005's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. “If you do it well, people want to come back for more,” Sarandos said, speaking about franchises.

The success spurred a prequel series and an animated spinoff - a strategy seemingly in line with Sarandos’ view of franchise building at Netflix. Those numbers, based on accounts that watched at least two minutes of the show, made it the most-watched first season of television for Netflix at the time. In the case of The Witcher, Netflix announced in January that the show was watched by 76 million households in approximately four weeks. The Splinter Cell animated series follows a couple of big bets on gaming franchises, including Netflix’s live-action adaptation of The Witcher and its animated adaptation of Castlevania. While a Netflix show may not be the announcement Splinter Cell fans were waiting on, it is a show of how Netflix is approaching video game IP. Details about the show remain under wraps, but the long-running video game franchise, based on Tom Clancy’s book series, follows former Navy SEAL Sam Fisher as he takes on a number of different missions for the NSA. John Wick writer Derek Kolstad is set to oversee the project. The streamer has ordered two seasons from the get-go, for a total of 16 episodes, according to Variety. Netflix and Ubisoft’s first project together is an animated adaptation of the gaming publisher’s Splinter Cell series, the company announced today.
